Understanding Green/Sustainable homes and how they contribute to improving the environment as well as adding to the health and comfort of homeowners and their families.
The seminar highlights the importance of green planning and architecture along with the importance of financial planning. It will provide insight into green loan products, how green features are appraised and what rebates maybe available. Additionally, it provides an understanding of how a realtor can use tools provided by the local MLS (multiple listing service) to market and promote the green features of a home.

This event is collaboration between the homeowners, BGBG, EnergySmart and the Center for ReSource Conservation’s Tour of Sustainable Homes. These organizations work in partnership to bring education about conservation, energy efficiency and green building practice to the average homeowner.

Energy Division Director, Center for Resource Conservation
Brad holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and has performed graduate work in building energy systems, energy policy, power electronics, power generation, and renewable energy systems. He helped develop the energy use and emissions model for the University of Colorado’s carbon neutrality plan. He also created a cost and emissions model to compare renovation plans for the university’s power plant. Brad has professional experience in business operations, program management, and mechanical design.
Doug Parker
Sustainability Examiner, Boulder County
Doug Parker was a contractor and Builder in Boulder County for over 30 years specializing in very energy efficient projects and solar homes prior to joining the Boulder County Building Division as the Sustainability Examiner.
Larry Kinney, PhD
Chief Technology Officer, Synergistic Building Technologies
Larry Kinney is a founder and former President of Synergistic Building Technologies. Since September of 2010, he has served the company as Chief Technology Officer. He did undergraduate work in Physics and Philosophy at Davidson and Rhodes colleges and holds a PhD in Philosophy from Syracuse University, where his research included Bertrand Russell’s work in developing the foundations of mathematics and logic. Larry has conceived and directed dozens of energy-related energy research, development, and demonstration projects. Active in energy conservation research for over 30 years, he has broad experience in fenestration systems, lighting and daylighting technologies, air handling and conditioning systems, controls, and energy-efficient greenhouses. Larry has authored over 200 publications and reports to clients and is the co-holder of two patents in the daylighting area. He co-founded SBT to help bring sound innovative energy-saving technologies to market.
