Graphic Design Assistant
The Center for ReSource Conservation (CRC) seeks an individual with significant graphic design experience to assist in creating and updating our water conservation program marketing materials. We currently run several innovative programs that educate and assist homeowners in their water conservation efforts. For more information on the CRC’s current water conservation programs, please click here.
This summer, water division staff will be creating and updating all marketing materials for many of our conservation programs. The Graphic Design Assistant will aid staff in the creation of program brochures, flyers and informational packets. They will also assist in updating the CRC website to reflect our current programmatic offerings. We will use these materials to better market and promote our programs.
Time Commitment:
This project runs from May through August of 2010, and will require 5-10 hours of work per week.
Desired Qualifications:
- Excellent graphic design skills
- Expertise in Adobe InDesign
- Familiar with web design software
- Detail oriented
- Strong writing skills
Slow the Flow Data Assistant
The Center for ReSource Conservation (CRC) seeks a detail oriented individual to aid in data collection and data entry during our summer Slow the Flow program. The Slow the Flow program is a large scale irrigation audit program that partners with 17 cities along the Front Range to provide free sprinkler inspections. The CRC’s team of 18 seasonal auditors performs over 1,400 residential audits and around 80 large property audits.
The Slow the Flow Data assistant will help with organize, track, and enter the data collected during these audits throughout the summer.
Time Commitment:
The Slow the Flow season runs the middle of June through the middle of August and this position will require 5-16 hours of work per week.

:: MARKETING & WEB INTERNSHIPS ::
Web Editor
The web editor is responsible for implementing the ongoing development of the CRC’s two websites (www.conservationcenter.org, www.resourceyard.org). You will be responsible for performing day-to-day site maintenance, following the company standards for design, performing navigation and browser compatibility, and performing quality-control of all content.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Coordinate backups
- Keep websites file structure clean
- Keep files updated with good keywords and descriptions for search engines to find easily
- To deal with hosting and email issues
- Assist in redeveloping the site and advising staff how to best optimize their content for online deployment.
- Provides regular status reports to Outreach and Education Manager
Desired Outcomes:
- Increase traffic and use of CRC websites
- To increase search engine optimization
- To create consistency with CRC’s brand
- To increase the dynamic nature of the CRC’s websites
Desired qualifications:
- Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and PHP programming skills
- Design skills
- Good writing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills - ability to develop good working relationships
Desired Behavioral Traits and Attitudes:
Team player, people-person, organized, creative, resourceful, pragmatic, results oriented, patient, and self-motivated. Environmentally concerned/aware.
Time Commitment:
3 month commitment and between 5-15 hours a month
CRC Business Membership Program Intern
The Center for ReSource Conservation is an environmental nonprofit located in Boulder, CO for over 30 years. We work closely with businesses that provide services and products for homeowners who wish to invest in greening their homes (and save money as a result).
Objective: Help the Development Director manage the Business Membership Program
Methods: Support current Business Members by delivering benefits. Maintain database and regular communications. Renew Members. Recruit new Members. Organize outreach materials.
Additional Responsibilities: May include assisting the Boulder County Solar & Green Homes Tour, writing, editing, graphic design, and research.
Qualifications: College degree (or close to graduating). Comfortable making cold calls and working in Salesforce.com. Awareness of green building issues and homeowner projects. Customer service experience.
Timeline: A commitment of 8-20 hours per week for at least two months.
