Don’t be shy…Register now for Boulder Solar Week and the Tour of Solar and Green Built Homes

The Boulder Tour of Solar and Green Built Homes is a great opportunity for everyone from the enthusiast to the professional to check out solar and green building technologies first hand in some of Boulder’s most innovative and sustainable homes. You can also chat with the homeowners, builders, contractors, and installers to ask questions and discuss opportunities in a low-hassle environment.

The Tour of Solar and Green Built homes is only one part of the CRC’s annual Solar Week, which includes a full week of opportunities to learn about green building technologies, solar power and other renewable energy options. This year we’ve expanded Solar Week to include a full day Conference and Expo at the beautiful St. Julien Hotel in downtown Boulder.

Boulder Solar Week a unique opportunity to learn innovative ways to make a difference in your own life.  Come see for yourself…sustainability is achievable for everyone!

While we’re on the subject…Volunteers needed for the 2007 Boulder Tour of Solar and Green Built Homes

Are you ready to take your sustainable commitment to the next level? The CRC is looking for a few good conservationists to volunteer for the Annual Tour of Solar and Green Built Homes on Sunday, September 30, 2007.

Volunteers don’t need to be experts, only interested in helping out.

Not only do you get to feel all warm and fuzzy inside, you also get to take the Tour for free, including associated Tour bootie - a Solar Week Conservation Magazine/guidebook and a CD ROM with extended resource materials, plus a free lunch.

For more information about volunteering for the Boulder Tour of Solar and Green Built Homes, please contact Kelsey Jackson at (303) 441-3278 EXT. 17 or email swvolunteer@conservationcenter.org (Please use volunteer as subject)

Last chance to register for the CRC’s PV Design and Installation Class

The CRC’s fall PV Design and Installation class is filling up fast. Look at what one graduate had to say about the class:

“I took the PV Design and Installation class last fall. No more than two weeks later I was hired on full-time at a PV company. I've had nothing short of an amazing experience and learned lots along the way. I have since become one of their lead installers and have installed over 200kW in residential and commercial jobs. Thank you guys so much for facilitating the course with SEI.”

- Marc Guy, PV Design & Installation class graduate, Boulder, September 2006

Keep Energy in Your Home and Money in Your Wallet

The first step to keeping energy in your home - and money in your wallet - is to find out where you are using and losing energy. The Center for ReSource Conservation’s Residential Energy Audit Program can help.

A REAP home energy analysis will help you understand your energy usage and give you personalized recommendations for lowering your energy bill.

The REAP is a collaborative effort between the Center for ReSource Conservation (CRC), Boulder County, the City of Boulder, Longmont Power and Communications and the Town of Superior. A REAP home energy analysis will help you understand your energy usage and give you a personalized set of recommendations to lower your energy.
