Free xeriscape and drip irrigation workshops offered during Boulder County Solar Week
If you missed out on the Water-Wise Landscape Workshops in the Spring, here’s your chance to learn about what it would take to make your garden water-wise. This year, in addition to the energy workshops offered during Boulder County Solar Week, the CRC will have two workshops on outdoor water conservation. The first workshop will focus on the basics of xeriscaping, from design to implementation, and the second workshop will focus on how to convert to drip irrigation. Both workshops are sponsored by the City of Lafayette and are free and open to the public. For details or to register, click here.
Insulate Colorado Program Offers Insulation Rebates Throughout Colorado
Neighborhood networking promotes energy audits and insulation
September's Insulate Colorado Week motivated community members throughout Boulder County to organize their friends, neighbors and coworkers to make energy efficiency improvements. It started with individuals wanting an energy audit, and led to social chains of neighborhood-wide audits and then energy-efficiency improvements throughout Boulder, Longmont, Louisville and Superior. These folks are taking advantage of the Insulate Colorado rebates, and the CRC has more available for 2008 only. Click here or call J.C. at 303-999-3820 x224 for more information.
Green Drinks Boulder at ReSource a Great Success!
The largest Green Drinks Boulder ever
The September Green Drinks and ReSource Customer Appreciation social gathering was a great success. This event was the largest Green Drinks Boulder ever and was attended by 208 green professionals from the Front Range. We were able to divert 90% of the waste generated from the event and less than 4 pounds of material will go to the landfill. The event at ReSource was sponsored by Eco-Green Office Supplies, Twisted Pine Brewery, Whole Foods, Boulder Weekly, and the Center for ReSource Conservation. Local musician and ReSource staff member, John Beacher, opened for the lively bluegrass group, the Swamp Koolers. Thanks to everyone who attended and made this festive green celebration one to remember!
