CRC’s New Mission Statement
To empower our community to conserve natural resources.
In recent months, the Center for ReSource Conservation Board of Directors and staff have been strategically planning the future of the CRC. After much analysis and debate, the Board unanimously approved a revised Mission Statement, a Vision Statement , a set of Core Values, and Operational Guidelines at its May 2008 meeting. The CRC’s revised mission is: to empower our community to conserve natural resources.
The rapidly increasing demands for CRC’s programming from individuals, businesses, and governments fueled the Board to make these important policy decisions which will ensure a more sustainable and impactful future for the CRC. While the main focus of the organization remains conserving natural resources, CRC’s future efforts will be increasingly directed towards engaging individuals along a continuum of opportunities which takes them from entry level sustainable actions to become conservation leaders. To ensure the greatest impact for our community, the CRC is also increasing its efforts to partner and collaborate with other organizations and will focus its energies within Boulder County where it can innovate and provide models for replication throughout Colorado and beyond.
During the coming months, CRC’s staff will be working to create a 3-year strategic plan to operationalize the direction given by the board. The CRC intends to continue its core programs like ReSource, Slow the Flow, and REAP as well as design numerous new initiatives focused at helping individuals to conserve energy and water and reduce waste.
These are exciting times for the Center for ReSource Conservation, and we hope that you share our enthusiasm about these changes and look forward to working with you to achieve our Vision - a thriving community that understands the finite nature of natural resources and acts to conserve them.

- Rebates are first come, first served, while 2008 program budget lasts.
- Rebates are only for installations begun after April 30.
- In the city of Boulder only, a prerequisite for the rebate is a residential energy audit through the REAP Program or a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR assessment.

CRC’s Farmers Market Booth and Summer Outreach Efforts
Stop by and say hello, ask a question, or share some knowledge.
This summer, the CRC is excited to be partnering with the City of Boulder Office of Environmental Affairs and numerous other organizations to host a conservation information booth at a dozen Farmer’s markets as well as other events like the BGBG’s Products and Services Fair. CRC staff and volunteers will be present at each booth to answer your conservation questions as well as advertise upcoming events and programs offered by Boulder Car Share, Boulder County Going Local, The Boulder Sustainability Education Center, Climate Smart, Ecocycle, Long’s Peak Energy Conservation, and the ReDirect Guide. So, if you have a question about how you can live a more sustainable life - anything from recycling to xeric gardening and insulating your home - we hope that you will stop by one of our booths and ask us. We also welcome you to visit and share actions you have recently taken to conserve natural resources so that we can pass your successes along to others in the community. If you miss us at the Farmer’s market, always remember you can stop by our office at 1702 Walnut Street or call us at 303.441.3278 anytime. We have a wealth of resources including expert staff and a sustainability library to share with you.
